Pairing Massage stones with chakras

Working with sacred stones is a chance to welcome the earth’s energy into our treatments, as well as the individual energy of the stone itself. Each stone enriches the massage with its own unique healing properties, helping you to release physical, emotional and spiritual blocks for your clients, while supporting yourself along the way.

In particular, selecting the right stone can greatly assist in activating the chakras:

Base Chakra

Black Jade – etheric bodyguard and a stone of protection

Red Jasper – the Stone of Endurance, a gentle, but vital, stimulator of chi, or Life Force, bringing physical strength and energy, stamina, focus and determination.

Sacral Chakra

Citrine – attracts an abundance and personal power

Carnelian – a guide in making space for new ways of living, fresh ideas and other sources of inspiration

Yellow Aventurine – Opens and balances the Solar Plexus Chakra; ideal for oversensitive or indecisive clients, or for resolving an unbalanced Sacral Chakra

Rose Quartz – Rose Quartz opens the heart to all types of love – love of self, love of family, love of friends, romantic love

Dragon’s Blood – promotes courage, vitality, and strength to keep clients centred and grounded

Blue Calcite – a stone of inspiration, facilitates “aha” moments, inner vision, clairvoyance and telepathy and eases the expression of creative energy

Sodalite – encourages rational thought, objectivity, truth and intuition, along with verbalisation of feelings, brings emotional balance and calms panic attacks.

Lepidolite – focuses energy on building something new and exciting

Amethyst – a remarkable stone of spirituality and contentment, known for its metaphysical abilities to still the mind and inspire an enhanced meditative state

Clear Quartz – a master healer crystal, and may be used for any condition. Stimulates the immune and circulatory systems, enhancing energy flow and bringing the body into balance.

The above stones are available together in the Chakra Body Balance set perfect for exploring the different energies, and the way your body and your clients respond to each stone.

Sometimes referred to as lava stone, basalt is a popular choice for hot stone massage but in truth it’s not a great choice. Its porous texture means that it soaks up oils and dead skin, making it harder to sanitise between clients, and it doesn’t hold heat well, making massage harder for the therapist and less effective for the client. For this reason, Stone Eagle does not stock basalt stones.

Granite is a non-porous stone with a dense crystal content, which helps it retain heat for longer periods during the treatment. Having heat on hand assists the therapist in easing tension from tight, blocked muscles and chakra points, creating a more relaxing session for you and your client. A number of other stones have a high granite content, which serves to combine the energy of the stone with the physical, heat-retaining properties of granite.

Mookaite is an Australian Jaspar. This beautiful stone gets a special mention – it’s a wonderful stone to wear or to have nearby for its protective qualities as it’s known for ‘healing the healer’, bringing peace and protection for when you give so much of yourself to others.
